About Me

My name is Michael Carver. I have a lovely wife named Heather, and a son named Jonathan. One of my dreams in life has always been to start my own software company. I hope that Yashasoft will help me to make this dream a reality.

I've been writing software for over 16 years. I sarted at the age of 12 when I came down with the flu and spent two weeks on the couch playing with a QBasic interpreter that came with DOS 6.2. My love for technology, and creating things grew into a career and a life-time of developing software.

I currently work for Digi International as an Applications Engineer. In simple terms I help Digi customers solve programming problems on Digi's Windows CE development kits. I also spend a lot of time developing internal tools for use by tech support.

I'm currently developing with the following technologies:
-- Java servlets for Tomcat 7. (includes Java, javascript, HTML, and CSS)
-- Android applications
-- Windows CE 6 & 7 applications/drivers (C, C++, and C#)
-- Java applications (I'm working on a few game prototypes, and YashaRecovery)
-- Silverlight, both the Windows CE and desktop/browser versions.

I have developed using:
-- Flash (AS3 programming in FlashDevelop)
-- Visual Studio 6, 2005, 2008, 2010.. VB6, VB.NET, C, C++, C#
-- Python.
-- PHP, HTML, CSS, HTML 1/2/3/4/5
-- NET+OS, Digi Embedded Linux.

So, that's me in a nutshell, thanks for checking me out, and I hope that you manage to find something worth while here.
